I can't send emails from my server

Problem encountered



You are unable or no longer able to send emails from your VPS or dedicated server, port 25 of your server seems to be blocked.

Cause



In case of IP blacklisting it is possible that port 25 of your server is temporarily restricted, this is essential to prevent PulseHeberg to see its blocks or its entire network blacklisted for SPAM.

Solution



You have just acquired your VPS and port 25 never worked

Identify the source of SPAM coming from your server


Several causes can cause SPAM to be sent from your :

A malicious script on your server uses your server to send unwanted emails, we recommend you use anti-malware software to scan your server such as ClamAV or Maldet. We also invite you to *follow our documentation in case of a compromised server.**
One of the mailboxes that is hosted on your server is compromised and is being used for sending SPAM, we recommend that you check the outgoing email logs and your email queue. If necessary change the password of all your mailboxes.

If you are unable to identify the source of this problem we recommend that you reinstall your VPS server to restart on a clean basis.
