Methodology of the benchmarks

What is the benchmark score?

The score indicated on our site corresponds to the multi-threaded score on the server concerned, calculated by the GeekBench 4 tool, running under Ubuntu 20.04. This represents the "raw" performance of the machine at the CPU level, and allows a quick comparison of the CPU potential of the offers we have. If you want more information, you will find the precise explanation of the tests performed in this document.

Can I run a benchmark myself?

You can run this benchmark software yourself if you wish, and this on any Linux server (we advise you to run it under Ubuntu 20.04). The execution is very simple, and is done in a few command lines:

The tool will then calculate the benchmark of your server (which can take 10 to 15 minutes), and will then display a link containing the result. The scores displayed on our site correspond to the "Multi-Core Score" box.

Are benchmark scores guaranteed?

On our VPS offers, the benchmark score is not guaranteed: The VPS offer corresponds to shared resources, which are not dedicated. Although you should have no problem getting the most out of your CPU when you need it, it is possible that your server's benchmark score may go up or down depending on the time of day

How to enable RDP connection on Ubuntu Desktop

||| This guide allows you to enable RDP on a Ubuntu Desktop server, however since RDP is not optimized for Linux we recommend using a VNC service instead if you need smoothness.

After installing Ubuntu Desktop, you can activate an RDP service to connect to your Ubuntu Desktop server via the Remote Desktop Connection software on Windows or Microsoft Remote Desktop on Linux and MacOS.

Connect in SSH to your VPS server
Install the xrdp package:

sudo apt install xrdp -y
Add the user xrdp to the ssl-certs group so that he can access the file /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key:

sudo adduser xrdp ssl-cert
Restart the xrdp service to take these changes into account:

sudo systemctl restart xrdp
Login to the VPS IP from the Remote Desktop Connection software on Windows or Microsoft Remote Desktop on Linux and MacOS with the username and password of your VPS.
You have good access to the Ubuntu Desktop in RDP

||| On high resolutions XRDP can be particularly slow, we recommend setting a lower resolution on your RDP connection software if necessary.

||| Although RDP easily allows remote access to your VPS server, it is not fully optimized for a Linux system.

How the payment by bank transfer works

Until now, we had restrictions in place for payment by bank transfer due to the fact that our teams manually process each payment received to assign it to the correct invoice pending payment.

Since November 1, 2022, we have implemented with the help of our banking partners an update of our payment system to accept more bank transfer payments from our customers by automating their processing.

For this, from now on, each customer wishing to pay PulseHeberg by bank transfer must generate an IBAN from his dedicated customer area. This virtual IBAN directly credits PulseHeberg's bank account and automatically reconciles the transfers received with the customer account to which it is attached.

||| Please note that this payment method is not instantaneous, the service is delivered or renewed upon actual receipt of your bank transfer. For immediate processing of your payment you can use Credit Card, PayPal or Cryptocurrency.

Processing a payment by bank transfer

This automatic operation allows each transfer received to be processed automatically in the following way:

Payment of a purchase order

To pay a purchase order, you just have to make a transfer corresponding to the amount to be paid by mentioning in the reference of your transfer the purchase order number : BDC-2022-XXXX.

How to activate VNC connection on Ubuntu Desktop?

After installing Ubuntu Desktop, you have the option to enable a VNC service. This allows you to connect to your Ubuntu Desktop server through a VNC client, bypassing the need to use the client area that includes a console. This console should only be used for emergency access to your VPS.

Connect in SSH to your VPS server
Install the TigerVNC Server package :

sudo apt install tigervnc-standalone-server -y
Run the vncpasswd command to launch the configuration of your VNC server:

vncpasswd

Answer the questions :

|| If you later want to change your VNC password or activate the read-only password, you can do so with the vncpasswd command.

How to create a Zimbra email alias?

The email alias allows you to benefit from a secondary address on a Zimbra email account, you have the possibility to create an alias from the management panel by clicking on Email Aliases :
